Over the past decade, I've served as a luxury automotive marketing and events contractor for Tandem Media as well as renowned car manufacturers including Porsche, Land Rover, and Infiniti. Additionally, I had the opportunity to work at a specialty vintage sports car dealership located in La Jolla, California. The diverse inventory spanned from 1968 street-legal Cobras to iconic F1 cars. I had the opportunity to drive some of the fastest cars on the market! But my love for cars started decades ago as a teenager.
In middle school I became obsessed with muscle car magazines after I fell in love with a 1969 Mustang convertible over spring break. My dad was in the Air Force and when he notified me that we would be moving from Virginia to California after 9th grade I basically said "nope" and we began to negotiate. It ended like this...I got to pick any car I wanted, within the budget, for my 16th birthday. I'm not sure where I thought I was going to live but it worked and we purchased a 1975 Camaro for $2500 from my friend's cousin. She had big back tires, a hood scoop, B&M shifter, a broken trunk, and a trusty cassette player usually blasting Deep Purple, Aldo Nova, Motley Crüe, or Dokken. I remember girls racing to catch up then disappointed to see I was NOT a long hair dude.
I spent much of high school hanging out at a little car lot called PJ Motors. I had friend's with access to the auctions so I changed cars often. I had a 280z Turbo, an RX7, a 300z, a Toyota 4x4, and another later model 90s Camaro. Then I ventured into trucks with a 2000 Ford F250 long-bed that I figured out how to purchase online and had delivered to my house a million years ago. It was a great experience!
I have two daughters and was a busy single parent and business owner for YEARS so I can appreciate wanting to find the right car online and have it delivered. Not giving too many strangers my personal information is always extra peace-of-mind. Not to mention skipping the haggling and finding a lot with the exact car I wanted. I was talked into a car I really did not want at least twice because of inventory.
I love animals and have been very involved in volunteering. I'm vegan (for the animals) and I spend a lot of time at hot yoga. I'm a big fan of staying healthy and taking care of myself. Obviously, I love car events. Check out photos on my IG @motocandy. If you ever see me please come say "hi".
